Welcome back and Happy New Year!
This week we are learning:
Literacy:
We are starting our new book Shakelton's Journey and the children will be researching about a crew member from the expedition as well recounting their favourite journey.
Maths:
We are looking at ratio and proportion before moving onto measurements and conversions.
Topic:
We are starting a new topic about South America and we will begin by looking at the different countries and their capitals within South America.
Science:
We are looking at the human circulatory system and focusing on the heart.
We are sorry to begin the year on a negative note, but we are very disappointed with the number of children who forgot to practice their spellings over the
Christmas holidays. As we did not provide any homework, we expected all of the children to have spent time over the holidays learning them.
Please be reminded that homework must be completed on time and to a high standard. Homework diaries must be signed every week.
Many Thanks,
Year 6 Teachers
