On the feast of St Brigid, 1st February, 3B performed their assembly about her life through poetry and song. Everyone had a part and all the children read their lines with clear, confident voices. In class the children made St Brigid’s Day crosses and showed them to everyone during the assembly. St Brigid is still remembered today because of the great example that she set; by the way she lived her life, of Christian love for others. The children sang a song praising the work of St Brigid. Thank you to all the parents for coming.
Following on from 3B’s assembly about St Brigid, John & Tina McGinley joined us in school and worked with the children in Year 5 and 4A to make tradition St Brigid’s crosses from reeds that came all the way from Co. Donegal. A special thank you to John and Tina.
