As our children finally return to their familiar surroundings, Physical Education has never appeared so vital and high profiled as it is now.
It is crucial in terms of fitness, wellbeing: mental health, self-esteem, emotive well-being, spirituality and future expectations and social behaviours. With this in mind, our PE lessons will seek to reintegrate children into physical activity in a way that suits our children in our community. This will put them in better stead for their summer curriculum. Although children will be in school, there still remains a number of ways in which they can remain active at home especially as their stamina for physical activity and motivation is nurtured and encouraged. Youth Sport Trust continues to update their Personal Best Challenges which children can do at home. This is part of the School Games' mission is to help more young people with the opportunity to compete and achieve their Personal Best, with a focus on including competition against oneself and others to improve personal performances. A process rather than the outcome. https://www.youthsporttrust.org/school-games-personal-challenge Well Schools Promise We are incredibly proud of you This last year has been exceptionally difficult. You have shown incredible resilience and adaptability. You have been selfless and put the needs of others before your own. You have made so many sacrifices and yet faced the challenges with strength and determination. There is much you’ve been told you’ve lost, including many weeks of your education, but there is much you have gained. You will emerge from this stronger. An important and powerful sentiment for all We look towards a brighter future and the reinstatement of PE at the forefront of the emotional and social well being of our children, |
