Proverbs 19:17
'Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.'
At The Rosary Catholic Primary School we live out the mission of Jesus by caring for our brothers and sisters who are in need. We raise money for a variety of charities, locally, nationally and internationally. Examples of this include:
Locally: Great Ormond Street Hospital, St Paul's Hounslow West
Nationally: Catholic Children’s Society and Macmillan Cancer Support
Internationally: CAFOD and Mary's Meals
St Paul's Foodbank
Last June, Year 6 asked children to donate an item of food for their chosen charity; St Paul's Foodbank. The children and teachers were so overwhelmed by the demand at St Paul's they decided it would be wonderful if we could donate at the end of each half term. On Wednesday 30th October the Year 6 children loaded up Mrs El-Amine’s car and took all the generous donations to St Paul’s Foodbank in Hounslow West.
They were very grateful and appreciative of your donations.
Thank you all for donating and bringing HOPE to those who struggle to feed themselves and their families - working together we can make a difference!!

Brighten Up Day

On Wednesday 9th October the children wore bright clothes to school to raise funds for Cafod. The previous week we welcomed a guest speaker from Cafod, Jo Hodgson, who told us about a boy called Fabiano. A lack of water in his village meant that 13-year-old Fabiano had to walk five kilometres before school every day to collect water for his family.
By Brightening Up to raise money, we can help Cafod to install solar water pumps in communities like Fabiano’s.

Year 6 Food Bank

Year 6 have been collecting non perishable foods to donate to St Paul's Foodbank. All the children across the school have kindly donated food to help those who are in need. The donations will be delivered to St Paul's Hounslow West so those who are struggling can avail of a food parcel on Wednesday mornings.
4A Bring & Buy Sale

4A’s ‘Bring and Buy’ Sale was an amazing success. We raised £257.47! 4A would like to thank all the people who remembered to bring their pocket money to buy something on the day. We chose to donate the money we raised to the - Make a Wish Foundation. We liked how it helps children who are very sick have their wish come true. The 4A ‘Bring and Buy’ meant that our class had to bring in items that were in good condition that we could sell and the other classes bought them, all the money will go to the charity. The things we were selling were: cupcakes, cakes, cookies, books, toys, clothes and accessories. Thank You, from Victoria!
4B 'Guess the Weight of the Teddy'

On Friday 3rd May, 4B held their fundraising event ‘Guess the Weight of the Teddy’ for the charity ‘Make a Wish’. ‘Make a Wish’ is a charity for children who have shortened lives through illness. We set everything up and started the event on the playground, however it started raining so we had to run inside the hall! Despite the weather, we were able to raise £73.11. Nobody guessed the actual weight of the teddy however; the 2 who came the closest were Bryan in 3A and Amiyha in Dolphins. We also had many runners up. Thank you to all the children and parents who attended the event. Make a Wish Charity will be very happy to receive the money soon! From Akim and Marcel 4B

Advent Project in aid of GOSH

This Advent we decided to support families who celebrate Christmas at Great Ormond Street Hospital. For some of our families GOSH holds a special place in their heart and as a school we wanted to help bring a smile to a child and their family on Christmas morning.
We would to send a resounding thank you to the many parents and children who embraced this project in the manner that it deserves. Our classes and offices were full with your generous donations. I am absolutely sure that each child who receives a gift at Christmas through GOSH will share the same emotions of awe and wonder as your own children, the only difference is the place where the gift will be received and opened.
Thank you for normalising the children's experience of Christmas in hospital.
